hi I live in Griffith ACT. Ive been with virgin for years, but suddenly i cant use any of my mobile phones in my home address. The coverage device doesnt show any major issue. i cant ring the kids with my mobile and they cant ring me on their virgin mobiles. It's pretty hopeless, and there's a safety issue. Anyone had a similar problem, is virgin losing coverage - occasionally there is some coverage but very patchy. help
hi i should add i seem to be able to make a call to my land line, i just cant ring the virgin mobile handsets. So the problem seems to be the virgin mobile phones wont connect among themselves. But i can happily ring out. seems very strange to me.
Hmm there seems to be a live outage near that area. I know there are other towers that seems to be working fine, but I'd wait until that specific one clears up. Then restart your phones and see if you can call your kids and vice versa. If it still persists, I'd call virgin directly!

hi thank you so much. the faulty tower is a really long way from place but maybe it's effecting the signal. funny i cant ring the kids at all, but i do get some occasional ability to ring out on my mobile, and they can as well. What definitely doesnt work is virgin to virgin calls, but virgin to other providers works intermittently - i will monitor the problem has been over the last 72 hours. thanks again
Yeah, I know what you mean; I'm no network wizard. But considering your issue is quite specific (V2V), that one tower might be the cause of it...
If it's still an issue though, i'd give Virgin a call.
Ps, remember to restart your phone too.
yep, i rang virgin but they didnt have much clue. they going to send new sim cards, but that wont solve the problem.
everything works except making calls or receiving calls at home. the virgin guy said it might be a black spot. Hasnt been a black spot for years. He told me the defective tower is too far away to be the problem.
Anyway going around in circles, might have been better with telstra, but will see how Virgin actions it. Im hoping they are good to deal with.
I am in the same area and have not been able to make or receive calls in the last a few days. I could make and receive calls with my mobile as soon as I left the area. No idea what's happened and why they haven't fixed it for so many days.
Hey guys, I've checked Griffith in the coverage maps and it looks like there are several towers in the area which are undergoing planned maintenance. This should be done by the 28th of January but hopefully this improves the service in your area.
